Pier360 Active

SportsRecreationLeisure

We understand wellness as something we experience not only through conversation and reflection, but also through movement, connection, leisure, and time spent together.

Sports, Recreation, and Leisure offerings are rooted in the belief that supportive experiences in community can play a meaningful role in recovery. Movement can reconnect with our bodies, release stress, and regulate our nervous systems. Time outdoors can offer grounding, perspective, and a sense of belonging to something larger than ourselves. Leisure also matters. Restful, enjoyable, and shared experiences can create space for joy, presence, and connection without pressure.

When these experiences happen in a community, they can strengthen relationships and remind us that recovery does not happen in isolation.

Movement helps us reconnect with our bodies, release stress, and regulate our nervous systems. Spending time outdoors invites grounding, perspective, and a sense of belonging to something larger than ourselves. When these experiences are shared, they also strengthen connection—reminding us that recovery does not happen in isolation.

A Peer-Led Approach to Movement and Wellness

Our Sports and Recreation activities are led by Pier 360 peers who bring both lived experience and a deep commitment to supportive, inclusive spaces. The Sports and Recreation Team creates opportunities that are welcoming, accessible, and centered on encouragement rather than performance.

Activities may include guided hikes, outdoor recreation, and movement-based gatherings designed to meet people where they are. Whether someone is seeking gentle movement, fresh air, or a chance to connect with others in a low-pressure setting, these offerings provide space to participate at one’s own pace.

Why Sports, Recreation, and Leisure Support Recovery

Engaging in physical activity and time in nature can:

  • Support emotional regulation and stress relief

  • Strengthen mind-body awareness

  • Foster connection and shared experience

  • Encourage routine, confidence, and resilience

  • Create moments of joy, presence, and reflection

Pier 360 Active is not about competition or achievement. It is about showing up, moving together, and experiencing wellness as a shared, living practice.

We invite peers to explore these opportunities as part of their own recovery journey—grounded in movement, supported by community, and led with care.
